Fall is just around the corner and educators in Colorado are gearing up for another school year. Regis University’s School of Education is sponsoring a number conferences in Colorado aimed at supporting our state’s teachers and educators in the realm of professional development.
Colorado Association for the Education of Young Children (CAEYC) Fall Conference

The CAEYC Fall Conference will offer real-world advice from early childhood experts, where attendees will learn how to:
- Implement ideas that can be used immediately in homes, schools and centers.
- Plan activities and set up a learning environment that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond.
- Move beyond classroom management and integrate social and emotional approaches in everyday practices.

19th Annual 2011 School ParaEducator Association of Colorado (SPEAC) Conference
Sep 30, 2011 – 9:00 AM – Oct 1, 2011 12:00pm, Embassy Suites (7290 Commerce Center Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80919)
The SPEAC, in conjunction with Regis University and Front Range Community College, will host their statewide conference with over 200 ParaEducators, teachers, and many other Educational Support Personnel in attendance.
Speakers include Dr. Ashleigh Molloy from the Transformation Education Institute, and Dr. Lorretta Johnson, executive vice president of American Federation of Teachers in Baltimore, Maryland. Saturday’s conference topics will range from Behavior Management, Teaching Mathematics, Autism, and Relaxation, to Conflict Resolution, First Aid, and Gangs 101.

Colorado Art Educators (CAEA) Conference

CAEA is an organization with the prime directive of advancing and improving the quality of art education throughout the state of Colorado.
To support the development of current and future professional art educators and as advocates for the implementation of national, state, and local visual arts standards, the CAEA conference will present eleven great Master Classes from which to choose from this year and lots of fun hands-on workshops as well as great presentations scheduled.
