Corrie Gladstein: Graduate, Master of Nonprofit Management
“Through the Regis Service Oriented Field Experience (SOFE) program, I was assigned to Yabonga,” stated Corrie Gladstein, who earned her Master of Nonprofit Management (MNM) degree online at Regis University College for Professional Studies.
The MNM program, in conjunction with the Regis SOFE program, provided Corrie with an invaluable, hands-on education while she served and measured the clinical results at Yabonga, a nonprofit in South Africa whose aim is to empower women in the fight against HIV transmission.
“I want to send every American that donates, votes, volunteers, runs for office, and even those that don’t, to a place like this,” said Corrie. “They should all meet the men and women who suffered through Apartheid, but are embracing the freedom that follows it. I want them all to live with a family in a township where meals, safety, and morale are tenuous.”
An essential part of the Master of Nonprofit Management degree is the program’s culmination through one of two capstone courses: Professional Research Project, which involves the creation, development, improvement or evaluation of a product or program or entails the writing of a thesis; and SOFE, which enables students like Corrie to travel to an off-campus domestic or international location where they provide consulting services to a nonprofit community in that venue.
“Through my online MNM education at Regis, and participation in the SOFE program, I have received a learning experience that altered my view of poverty and hardship. I’ve witnessed the power of hope and will forever feel enriched and compelled to use my Regis education to serve my local and global communities.”
Regis CPS Master of Nonprofit Management degree is the only MNM program of its kind in the U.S. that enables adult students to earn their degree in the classroom or online. The curriculum offered is academically rigorous, focusing on all aspects of operating a nonprofit, from financial management and economic challenges, to governance, leadership, and the strategies needed to overcome social, political, cultural, and ideological issues that impact nonprofit organizations today.
