Regis University MBA Program Prerequisites

To be fully admitted into the Regis University CPS MBA program and the Global MBA in Emerging Markets degree program (a joint degree between Regis University and ITESO Universidad Jesuita de Guadalajara in Guadalajara, Mexico), students must demonstrate foundational knowledge required to successfully complete the MBA curriculum. Those required foundation course areas include:

  • Financial Accounting
  • Managerial/Cost Accounting
  • Business/Corporate Finance
  • Business Statistics*
  • Marketing

Coursework successfully completed (C- or better) as part of an undergraduate degree and posted on your undergraduate transcript may meet these foundational knowledge prerequisites. If you have not previously completed courses at the undergraduate level, you may meet the foundation requirements in a variety of ways:

  1. Taking accelerated 5- and 8-week adult undergraduate courses through Regis University's College for Professional Studies, passing with a grade of C- or better.
  2. Tests such as CLEP or DANTES (see your enrollment counselor first).
  3. Prior Learning Assessment/Portfolio (ED202) (see your enrollment counselor first).
  4. Taking accelerated 8-week 500-level Essentials of Business Development (MBAP 520A and 520B**), passing with a grade of C or better. MBAP520A and 520B are recommended for students who have extensive experience in business or management - five years or more - that entailed management decisions and exposure to financial reports and accounts. For example, someone may have run his or her own business for several years, keeping records and dealing with accountants and taxes, or he or she may have worked in a bookkeeping or tax preparation role.

* The Business Statistics prerequisite is not required for the Global MBA in Emerging Markets.

** Both MBAP520A and 520B are offered fully online.
