Regis University MBA Program Prerequisites
To be fully admitted into the College for Professional Studies' MBA program, students must demonstrate the foundational knowledge required to successfully complete the MBA curriculum. Foundational areas include accounting, finance, statistics and marketing.
Coursework successfully completed (C- or better) as part of an undergraduate degree and posted on your undergraduate transcript may meet these foundational knowledge requirements. If you have not previously completed applicable courses at the undergraduate level, you may meet the foundational requirements in a variety of other ways:
-
Complete the MBA Foundation Suite, an online, self-paced program of study focusing on six separate skill areas:
- Quantitative methods
- Statistics
- Accounting fundamentals
- Financial accounting
- Economics and finance
- Spreadsheet applications
Once you successfully complete the assessments in each of the six skill areas, you have completed the MBA Foundation Suite and met the MBA program's foundational requirements. The MBA Foundation Suite is non-credit self-study (rather than an instructor-led course) and costs $300. The suite must be completed prior to enrolling in MBA courses. -
Complete accelerated 8-week adult undergraduate courses through Regis University's College for Professional Studies, with a grade of C- or better. There are five courses at Regis that collectively meet the foundational requirements:
-
CLEP or DSST tests (see your enrollment counselor first).
-
Prior Learning Assessment/Portfolio (ED202) (see your enrollment counselor first).
-
Complete a pair of accelerated 8-week 500-level Essentials of Business Development (MBAP 520A and 520B**) courses, with a grade of C or better. MBAP520A and 520B are recommended for students who have extensive experience in business or management - five years or more - that entailed management decisions and exposure to financial reporting and accounting. These courses are not recommended for MBA students specializing in Finance and Accounting.
* The Business Statistics prerequisite is not required for the Global MBA in Emerging Markets.
** Both MBAP520A and 520B are offered fully online.
