Regis University announces Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film program to begin Summer Session 2009
(DENVER) – Regis University’s College for Professional Studies will begin offering a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) program in film and video production in collaboration with the Community College of Aurora’s Colorado Film School on their Lowry campus for the summer session beginning May 4.
In addition to the use of cutting edge filmmaking facilities on its new Lowry campus, Regis students will benefit from nationally recruited and experienced faculty as well as the flexibility to learn a range of filmmaking techniques and the latest technologies.
The BFA program will prepare students for professional careers in the film and video production fields while also focusing on a strong theoretical foundation. The program will include five specialized areas of interest: Writing/Directing, Videography/Cinematography, Video Post-Production, Writing/Producing and Acting for the Screen. All areas will emphasize ethical and critical thinking skills which relate directly to Regis’ mission of service to others.
“This is going to be a nationally recognized program in a unique environment with a social conscience,” said Barry Martin, Dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Regis, “I’m terribly excited and pleased that Regis is offering this program.”
A kick-off party is scheduled for April 28, from 5 p.m.-7 p.m. on the Lowry campus. The public is invited. For more information and directions, please contact Barry Martin at 303.964.5313 or bmartin@regis.edu.
