Regis University CPS Spring Charitable Giving Campaign raises more than 11K for three nonprofit organizations

Following the success of the fall 2009 campaign, the BE INFLUENTIAL Charitable Giving Program returned this spring to raise more than $11,000 for three nonprofit organizations: Escuela de Guadalupe, Food Bank of the Rockies, and Habitat for Humanity of Colorado.

On April 21, donations were presented to Escuela de Guadalupe ($2,790) and Food Bank of the Rockies ($4,960). Habitat for Humanity of Colorado was presented its donation ($3,410) on May 14. All donations together totaled $11,160.

Regis University College for Professional Studies (CPS) developed the BE INFLUENTIAL Charitable Giving Program not only as a way to give back to and serve the community, but as a way to give new student applicants the opportunity to experience the power of influence from day one with Regis University. New student applicants have the option to select one of three nonprofit organizations after submitting their completed online application. CPS then makes a $10 donation to the charity of the student’s choice. Each organization was selected to participate based on its commitment and service to people, the environment, and education.

Representatives from the three organizations expressed their gratitude for the donations and their excitement in partnering with Regis University CPS.

"We are thrilled to have been a part of Regis University's BE INFLUENTIAL Campaign and are grateful to Regis and the participating students for choosing Escuela as part of this giving program," said David Card, President of Escuela de Guadalupe. "We are so fortunate to have Regis University as a partner in developing compassionate leaders for the world of tomorrow."

"Because of generous contributions from individuals and organizations like Regis University, we are able to distribute millions of pounds of food, all year long, to those in our community who struggle to put a meal on their table. Thank you so much!" said Kevin Seggelke, President and CEO of Food Bank of the Rockies.

"Habitat for Humanity of Colorado (HFHC) feels fortunate to have the opportunity to be exposed to students continuing their education through Regis University College for Professional Studies," said Stefka Fanchi, HFHC Executive Director. "This donation from Regis University is especially valued in this economic downturn as we strive to build the next 1000 homes in Colorado."

Regis University CPS thanks all of our spring 2010 new student applicants who participated in the Spring 2010 Charitable Giving Campaign – you were influential in directing the donations made by Regis University, and you have helped make a difference in your community.
