The Master of Education with Licensure/Certification can be achieved in one of two ways:
- A multi-year program utilizing evening and weekend classes, online classes, or guided independent study
- A one-year Fast Forward Program where courses are taken one at a time during the day for two weeks, typically followed by a one-week break
A graduate Licensure/Certification is dependent on the major of your Bachelor’s degree. If the level and area of endorsement you are seeking does not correspond to your specific major, you may need to take additional undergraduate credits as required by the laws and regulations for licensure/certification of the state in which you reside and wish to teach (namely, Colorado, Nevada, or Wyoming).
The Fast Forward Program with Licensure/Certification
The Fast Forward Program is an intensive daytime, classroom-based licensure program offered in Colorado at Regis University's DTC and Colorado Springs campuses. It is a 42-48-credit-hour, compressed, graduate-level teacher preparation program for elementary and secondary school teacher candidates.
Key features of the Fast Forward Program include:
- Full professional preparation in three semesters
- Courses taken one at a time for two weeks, usually followed by a one-week break
- Some classroom-based instruction plus field experiences and observations in various Denver Metro area schools
- Student teaching, concurrent with teaching, if the candidate is hired for a teaching position
- Strong coaching and mentoring support by Regis Education faculty
The Regis CPS classroom-based M.Ed. with Licensure/Certification degree enables educators in public and private schools to complete their graduate studies and earn licensure in one of the following areas of specialization:
