The Master of Education with Licensure can be achieved in one of two ways:
- A multi-year program utilizing on-campus evening and weekend classes, online classes, or directed study
- A Fast Forward Program where courses are taken one at a time during the day for four weeks
A graduate Licensure is dependent on the major of your Bachelor’s degree. If the level and area of endorsement you are seeking does not correspond to your specific major, you may need to take additional undergraduate credits as required by the laws and regulations for licensure/certification of the state in which you reside and wish to teach (namely, Colorado, Nevada, or Wyoming). Please note that paraprofessionals are offered a 10% preferred tuition discount for all Education courses at Regis University CPS. Contact an Enrollment Counselor for details.
The Fast Forward Program with Licensure
The Fast Forward Program is an intensive daytime, campus-based licensure program offered in Colorado at Regis University's DTC campus. It is a 45-48-credit-hour graduate-level teacher preparation program for elementary and secondary (excluding Foreign Language) school teacher candidates who wish to earn a Master's degree on a professional fast track. Students must have prerequisites completed before they will be allowed to start any of the graduate-level courses, as the Fast Forward Program is designed specifically for graduate courses to be completed in less than two years.
Key features of the Fast Forward Program include:
- Courses are four weeks long
- Some campus-based instruction plus field experiences and observations in various Denver Metro area schools
- Student teaching, concurrent with teaching, if the candidate is hired for a teaching position
- Strong coaching and mentoring support by Regis University Education faculty
The Regis University CPS campus-based M.Ed. with Licensure degree enables educators in public and private schools to complete their graduate studies and earn licensure in one of the following areas of specialization:
