Current teachers not wishing to complete an entire Master of Education degree can take up to 9-credit hours as a Non-Degree Seeking Student, which is ideal for teachers needing to earn Continuing Education Units.

The MEd with an emphasis in Adult Learning is designed to meet the needs of students interested in working in positions in training and development at higher education and corporate levels. This program can be taken via Guided Study (formerly GIS) or weekend intensive classes at the North Denver Campus.

Space Studies

36 Credit Hours Required

This program is designed for teachers who are interested in providing academic training in the area of space science at the K-12 levels. Space studies includes space history, earth system science, rocketry, and the biology of living in space, plus biological and physical research, astronomy, and space technologies. This program is a collaborative effort and offered jointly between the Space Foundation and Regis University.

Five one-week intensive classes in residency at the Space Foundation. Classes are offered each summer at the Space Foundation in Colorado Springs.

This program provides in-depth teacher preparation in literacy instruction, including reading, writing, speaking, viewing, and language development for all populations. The field of educational and instructional technology is continually growing; K12, Higher Education, and Corporate Education all need trained professionals who are not only knowledgeable of technology but have a solid grasp of education and sound learning principles. The M.Ed. with an emphasis in Instructional Technology is designed to meet the needs of students interested in positions at the K-12 level and higher education/corporate levels. This program is offered primarily in the Guided Independent Study format.

This program is designed primarily for previously licensed teachers, coursework may be focused on K-12 learning. However, this program may also be helpful to those interested in adult/post-secondary education, corporate training, or other focused areas of education. The program is offered primarily through Guided Independent Study and is led by content experts. Depending on course selection, students may blend a variety of coursework delivery formats as well.

Autism

36 Credit Hours Required

This specialization is especially designed by practicing professionals for licensed Special Education teachers in response to the critical need for specialists in Autism. It is ideal for teachers who are currently practicing in special education classrooms as it extends learning in the whole field while it provides specific coursework in autism diagnosis and teaching methods. The Autism specialization consists of 30 semester hours of coursework and 6 hours completing a practical capstone related to classroom use.
