Bachelor's Degree with Teacher Licensure: Nevada
Regis University's Bachelor’s Degree with Licensure offers a variety of options for aspiring educators or for teachers who wish to upgrade their skills and credentials. Our 128-credit-hour license program includes the course requirements that fulfill state standards for specific specialization areas. Through this option, students can earn their Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degree and simultaneously earn licensure/certification in Nevada.
Overview
- The State of Nevada requires all licensed teachers to obtain licensure in addition to the Bachelor’s degree. A degree is not sufficient to meet licensure guidelines.
- All courses required for degree and licensure may be taken at Regis CPS, or up to 90 credits may be transferred in. Regis faculty has the final decision on acceptance of transfer credit.
- Paraprofessionals are offered a 10% preferred tuition discount for all Education courses at Regis University CPS. Contact an Enrollment Counselor for details.
- After acceptance into the Education Program, you will be assigned an advisor who will provide specific course information.
- A student may take as long as seven years to complete the program of study.

Requirements: a minimum of 128 semester credit hours
- Undergraduate Core Requirements: 45 credit hours
- Content Area Requirements: A minimum of 42 credit hours are required to complete a major and licensure in an approved academic field. Specific courses are required to meet state requirements in the content area.

Admission Requirements & Application Deadlines
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA from all previous attended colleges and universities
- Complete online Application Form at www.regis.edu/spsteapp
- Submit a $50 non-refundable application fee (waived for previous Regis University students)
- Provide prior college official transcripts within 30 days from the start of first class (or official high school or GED transcripts)
- Three years of work experience after high school, preferred
- One Recommendation Form and one Observation Form (Form to be completed online by recommenders)
- Successful completion of all three sections of the Praxis I (PPST) exam prior to student teaching)
- Applicants lacking experience with children of the age of licensure desired must obtain experience within the first semester
