Yellow Ribbon Program

Regis University College for Professional Studies (CPS) is a proud participant of the Yellow Ribbon GI Education Enhancement Program (Yellow Ribbon Program), a provision of the Post 9/11 Veterans Educational Assistance Act of 2008. Through the Program, institutions of higher learning can enter into an agreement with Veterans Affairs (VA) to help fund tuition expenses for benefits-eligible veterans, making it possible for private schools’ tuition costs to be competitive with other schools. The provisions of the Yellow Ribbon Program apply to eligible Regis University CPS students enrolled in a degree or academic certificate program. Eligible veterans can accept these tuition benefits to further their own education, or they can transfer their benefits to their spouses and/or dependents.

Tuition Benefits

Effective August 1, 2011, the Post 9/11 GI Bill provides the veteran who is eligible for 100% of benefits and attending a private school with $17,500 per year, available to help pay tuition (this amount is applicable for both undergraduate and graduate programs participating in Regis University CPS' online, Colorado, and Nevada programs). If tuition expenses exceed $17,500, the Yellow Ribbon Program will provide additional funding:

  • For eligible undergraduate students, the Yellow Ribbon Program will provide an additional $4,140.00, which Regis University will match. This provides undergraduate students a total of $25,780.00 to use toward tuition for the entire academic year, covering approximately 56 credit hours (18 courses).
  • For eligible graduate students, the Yellow Ribbon Program will provide an additional $2,430.00, which Regis University will match. This provides graduate students a total of $22,360.00 to use toward tuition for the entire academic year. Graduate program tuition varies by degree, so total credit hours earned under tuition benefit vary as well. For example, during the 2011-2012 academic year, $22,360 will cover 27 credit hours (9 courses) for the online MBA degree or 35 credit hours (almost 12 courses) of a School of Computer Science & Information graduate degree.

For help calculating your own expected tuition costs, contact a Regis Enrollment Counselor. Veterans who are not eligible for 100% of the Post 9/11 GI Bill need to contact a VA representative to determine the education benefits he/she is eligible for.

The Regis Advantage

Regis University CPS understands the challenges that military personnel face when they make the choice to earn their degree. There are a lot of obstacles, but Regis University CPS and the Yellow Ribbon program help break those down with additional benefits for post 9/11 veterans including living and book allotments, as well as Regis University’s flexible time-off policy. Additionally, Regis CPS accepts credit for military training to help you earn your degree faster. Contact an Enrollment Counselor to see how you can convert your military training, courses, and specialty into relevant college credits.
